The Brown County Hazardous Material Recovery facility now accepts household batteries & battery containing devices from Brown County residents FOR FREE!
Tuesday: 9AM - 3PM
Thursday: 12 PM - 6PM
Any type of alkaline, rechargeable and lithium battery may be brought to the Hazardous Material Recovery facility for safe disposal.

Devices powered by batteries where the battery IS NOT designed to be replaced by the consumer are accepted from Brown County residents for free.
Battery Powered Devices

For devices powered by batteries where the battery IS designed to be replaced by the consumer the battery is accepted from Brown County residents for free. ​ A fee of $0.30/lb will be charged for disposal of the device.
