Rates & Fees - Hazardous Material

The Hazardous Material Recovery Facility accepts credit cards (Mastercard, Discover & Visa), checks and cash for payment at the time services are rendered.

 

BROWN COUNTY RESIDENTS: The following is a list of household items that have fees

$0.30/lb.

  • Waste Oil

  • Computers, TVs, Any Electronic item

  • Corded Appliances

  • Ballasts

  • Light bulbs (of any kind)

  • Adhesive, Water Based

  • Caulk/Glaze/Grout/Putty

  • Cement/Mortar/Plaster

  • Latex Paint

  • Antifreeze

  • Windshield Wiper Fluid

  • Cooking Oil/Grease

  • Automotive batteries (lead acid only - no electric vehicle batteries accepted)

  • Propane cylinders (each)

  • Microwaves

  • Fire Extinguishers

  • Dehumidifiers

  • Small A/C Units

  • Small Water Coolers

Other Important Information

 

  • Disposal of fire extinguishers is $5 per extinguisher for Brown County Residents regardless of weight or size

​

  • Hazardous Material Recovery staff will not "pour off" gasoline and return gas containers. If you are bringing gasoline or other fluids to the Hazardous Material Recovery facility this material must be brought in a container that can be left at the facility. 

​

  • Large Loads - If you have a large quantity of material (a truck bed full, or trailer full) please call to make an appointment. We reserve the right to reject any loads deemed too large to handle during residential hours, or you may be required to wait until a slower period. If you are in doubt, you should call and discuss it with Hazardous Material Recovery personnel.

 

  • Attention - If two people are required to lift a television into a vehicle, we may require help to unload it when it is brought to our facility.
